Description:

The Storytelling Development Fund provides financial assistance to Prince Edward Island producers and/or production companies for scriptwriting costs required for film, TV and screen based projects.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to 50% of project costs. The department’s contribution will not exceed 50% of eligible costs and normally not exceed a maximum of $5,000.

Eligibility:

“Applicants must:
1. be PEI producers and/or production companies;
2. be PEI writers (who have maintained their primary residence in PEI for at least 12 months prior to the application submission date).”

Application Steps:

“Applicants must:
1. contact Shannon Pratt through telephone at (902) 626-8613, and email at
slpratt@gov.pe.ca , to discuss the project and the application requirements before applying;
2. complete and submit a separate proposal for each project;
3. submit their proposal and detailed industry standard budget via email only.

4. Applicants who are approved for funding will receive a letter outlining the terms and conditions of funding.”

Documentation Needed:

“Applicants must:
1. submit the completed application and proposal;
2. submit a final report upon project completion, no funds can be released for any subsequent grant approved through the division until the overdue report has been received.”
