Description:

The Artist I Recording Program offers a $1,500 investment toward sound recording. These activities must be detailed in an artist bio, history, and recording plan, which will be submitted to Music Nova Scotia as a required element of the application.

Comments on Funding:

Level of Investment – $1,500 maximum per Applicant per Deadline
Percentage of Investment – 75% of total budget up to max investment

Deadline:

March 15 September 15

Eligibility:

Applicants must be Artist I
a) Any Artist who has not reached Artist II or Artist III
b) Must have completed 2 Basic Training Sessions

Application Steps:

Applicants must:
1. Update their Applicant Profile before submitting an application.
2. Complete and submit a new Applicant Profile form if they do not already have one. Use the appropriate link provided to access the form.
3. Do not create a new Applicant Profile if an existing one has already been created.
4. Contact the Program Manager if they are unsure whether they have an Applicant Profile.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:

1. A completed application form
2.A streaming link of a recent demo along with lyrics (PDF file only), known as the Assessment Track
3. An Artist Bio & History, Recording Plan, and Marketing & Release overview (PDF file only)
4. A Guardian Consent Form if under the age of 18
5. At the end of the Artist I Recording project, successful applicants are required to deliver to Music Nova Scotia one new, previously unreleased, professional quality sound recording, called the Delivery Track.
