Description:

The Marketing Support: Artist I component of the Music Nova Scotia Investment Program supports Artists I and Record Labels applicants by contributing investment to the costs of the marketing and promotion of a single, EP, LP, or tour. Projects focused solely on asset creation are ineligible.

$1,500 maximum for Artist Level I Applicant (or eligible music company per Deadline)

Percentage of Investment:
67% of total budget up to max investment

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:
1. Artist I artists (must meet all of the following):
a) any Artist who has not reached Artist II or Artist III;
b) must have completed two (2) Basic Training Sessions;
2. Developing Songwriters/Producers or Export Ready Songwriters/Producers (must meet all of the following):
a) Nova Scotian owned business;
b) Be a registered Nova Scotian business with CRA business numbers (including registered sole proprietors or partnerships);
c) Be engaged in the primary activities of Songwriting or Production, including co-writes and toplining;
d) Must have writing credits (minimum 33% writer’s share) on a minimum of 2 songs performed by an artist other than the songwriter;
e) Can demonstrate revenues from core business activities including the sale and licensing of recorded music, publishing and commissions.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:
1. Update their Applicant Profile before submitting an application.
2. Complete and submit a new Applicant Profile form if they do not already have one. Use the appropriate link provided to access the form.
3. Do not create a new Applicant Profile if an existing one has already been created.
4. Contact the Program Manager if they are unsure whether they have an Applicant Profile.

2. A complete and detailed Marketing Plan for your project
