Description:

The Arts Scholarships Program is designed to recognize and encourage New Brunswick students who have demonstrated exceptional artistic talent and potential, and who are pursuing a career in the arts. This program awards scholarships for full-time, part-time or short-term studies.

Eligibility:

Applicants must

1. Have completed relevant basic training and have demonstrated exceptional potential and talent as an artist;
2. Are Canadian citizen, have an affiliation with a First Nation on Turtle Island, are permanent resident of Canada or have an application for permanent resident in process;
3. Have resided in New Brunswick for at least one year (12 months) prior to the application deadline;
4. Do not have an overdue Final Report for any previous Arts Scholarship awarded; and
5. Students who maintain permanent residency in New Brunswick but who are temporarily out of the province
pursuing postsecondary studies are eligible to apply.
6. Individuals who come to New Brunswick solely for the purpose of studying at an institution are not eligible.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:
1. create an online account on https://artsnb.ca/oa,
2. submit the application by 11:59pm on the deadline date.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:
1. Description of the applicant’s professional career plans, max. 350 words
2. Information on the proposed program of study (or, if applicable, CV of the private instructor)
3. Balanced project budget
4. Artist’s CV
5. Samples of work
6. Two (2) letters of recommendation sent directly from
the appraisers to artsnb
7. Official transcript of marks/credits sent directly from the applicant’s current or previous institution of study
