Description:
The Equinox program supports Indigenous artists, curators and groups to engage in artistic creation and professional development. Eligible projects can range from
– research and development for the creation of new works
– creation and presentation of artistic work
– activities that support and strengthen the Indigenous arts community.
Comments on Funding:
The Equinox program provides flexible, short-term support to individual Indigenous artists or collectives. Grant funds may be used for projects that will have a positive impact on building the arts ecosystem in Indigenous communities.

Eligibility:
Applicants must:
1. Be Indigenous artists, curators, collectives and group
2. Be emerging, midcareer and senior artists working in all disciplines.
3. demonstrate a clear commitment to the
creation, public presentation, dialogue and appreciation of Indigenous arts practices.
4. Be a Canadian citizen, have an affiliation with a First Nation on Turtle Island, be a permanent resident of Canada or have an application for permanent resident in process;
5. Have resided in New Brunswick for at least one year (12 months) prior to the application deadline;
6. Must qualify as a professional artist according to the guidelines in Appendix 1: artsnb Definition of a Professional Artist

Applicants must:
1. create an online account on https://artsnb.ca/oa,
2. submit the application by 11:59pm on the deadline date.
Documentation Needed:
Applicants must submit:
1. Project description, max. 350 words OR a 3-5 minute oral video description of the project
2. Balanced project budget
3. Artist’s CV OR 1-minute oral video description of the applicant’s artistic background
4. Samples of work
5. (If applicable) CV and letter of agreement for each artistic collaborator involved in the project
