Description:
The program aims:
– To capitalize on apple development opportunities and to
improve the profitability of New Brunswick apple producers.
-To advance the apple sector in New Brunswick through the establishment of more productive orchards (new trees and support systems).
– To increase the value of apples and apple products through the adoption of technologies that will improve apple storage systems, fruit quality assurance and orchard establishment.

Eligible Costs and Levels of Assistance:
By-laws and Startup Activities
• Costs for professional services to drafting or update of by-laws,
registration and incorporation. Funding of up to 70% of eligible
costs to a maximum of $5,000 is available.
Machinery purchased for the shared usage of an Agricultural
Machinery Usage Cooperative
• Examples include specialized agricultural equipment for tillage,
planting, crop protection, spreading of materials (fertilizers,
manure, and lime) and harvest. Trucks and tractors are not
eligible. Funding of up to 30% of eligible costs to a maximum of
$30,000 per year is available. Each cooperative will be limited to
a maximum of $100,000 over the life of the program (April 1, 2023,
to March 31, 2028).

Eligibility:
Applicants must:
1. be the current owner of the land where the orchard (trees and support system) will be established and until the project claim is paid.
2. Activities must be carried out within the province of New Brunswick
3. be a member in good standing of the Apple Growers of New Brunswick (AGNB) as prescribed under the New Brunswick Natural Products Act.
4. A new entrant may apply if their ultimate goal is commercialscale apple production and approval is received from the AGNB
