Description:

Workplace Skills Training is a program developed for employers to train new or existing employees to develop their skills and align with needs of the business. The employer determines the type of training and who will participate.

Comments on Funding:

SkillsPEI can contribute up to 50% of the direct training costs. You will be required to contribute the remaining 50%. At the end of the training, the employee should have developed skills to meet the demands of today’s economy.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

1. Registered private sector businesses;
2. Organization acting on behalf of a group of employers (e.g. employer consortia, industry associations and sector council businesses);
3. Band/tribal councils;
4. Non-profit organizations.

Application Steps:

Applicants must contact skillspei@gov.pe.ca or drop the application document in local SkillsPEI office.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:
1. the completed Workplace Skills Training Employer application form,
2. a brief outline of the company’s products or services and the plan, if any, for future growth,
3. a detailed proposal outlining the training objectives, activities, duration and expected results,
4. a detailed project budget which demonstrates your financial contribution,
5. name and details of the proposed training provider,
6. additional information upon request.
