Description:

The Pay for Performance (P4P) program offers eligible organizations financial incentives for making substantial reductions in electricity consumption within their facilities.

Comments on Funding:

Eligible projects will receive an incentive of $0.15/kWh based on verified first year energy savings.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be institutional, not-for-profit, and commercial (including multi-unit residential) customers that have not yet entered a binding agreement to acquire the desired energy efficiency measures or services required to install the measures.

Projects may be eligible for the P4P program if:
1. The facility is served directly or indirectly by Nova Scotia Power Inc.;
2. Target project savings are greater than 10% reduction of annual energy consumption per facility included in the project;
3. Consume at least 1,000,000 kWh annually
(can combine up to 5 buildings to meet this requirement);
4. Have a minimum of 12 months of interval meter data of typical usage, at hourly resolution or better, from a revenue-grade meter.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:
1. submit the P4P Project Application for an initial eligibility screening. Once approved, their consultant will complete and submit a baseline period model report to Efficiency Nova Scotia;
2. review, sign, and return the P4P Project Agreement summarizing their project, estimated electrical energy savings and measurement & verification (M&V) plan;
3. start to implement their energy efficiency measures outlined in their project agreement. The implementation period is up to 12 months;
4. submit Quarterly Implementation Reports;
5. complete End of Performance Report.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit: 1. submit a report that includes verification of electrical energy savings through modeling.
2. The end of performance period report must include all supporting documentation as specified in the M&V Guidelines.
