Description:

This program is designed to assist with the cost of energy effi cient upgrades to shelters,
rooming houses, transition houses, and privately and cooperatively owned affordable housing.
If the building is eligible, we’ll help cover the expense of the recommended upgrades,
which may include improvements to space and water heating, window and door
replacements, attic, wall and basement insulation, and more

Comments on Funding:

Receive up to 80% in rebates for energy efficient upgrades to rentals, co-ops, shelters and other non-profit support facilities.

Applicants must be:

1. For-profit Multi-Unit Residential Rentals
a. Affordable Rentals & Rooming Houses (1-3 Units in electrically heated buildings)
b. Affordable Rentals & Rooming Houses (4+ Units)

2. Not-for-profit Properties

Applicants complete and submit an Affordable Housing Program Application and wait to hear back from Efficiency Nova Scotia.
