Description:

Businesses can receive a rebate of $20 for every programmable thermostat installed.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be businesses that have an active electricity account and are located in an existing building.

Eligible Products:
1. Units must be replacing existing thermostats used for electric heat and must be used for a commercial property.
2. Thermostats must have a setting precision of +/- 0.5 degrees Celsius.
New smart-thermostats are also eligible. They can be controlled by a smartphone, tablet or computer, which makes it easy to program and track their energy use.
3. The thermostats must have been purchased on or after November 1, 2013.

Application Steps:

Applicants must apply online or mail their completed application.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit a copy of their purchase receipt with their application.

Other Things to Note:

Newfoundland Power and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro may visit applicant’s facility and inspect the thermostat installation at any time within 15 months from when the rebate was processed.
