Description:

The Political Contributions Tax Credit can be claimed by individuals or corporation on the contributions made to candidates and recognized parties, as defined under the Nova Scotia Elections Act. 

Comments on Funding:

The annual amount of the credit is the lesser of 75% of the contributions and $750.

Documentation Needed: 

Applicants must:

  • enter the total amount of qualifying contributions on line 893 of Schedule 5, Tax Calculation Supplementary – Corporations, and the amount of the credit they are claiming on line 550,
  • keep the official receipts in case they are asked for them later.
