Wage Support Program for Early Childhood Educators (WSP-ECE)

Description:

The Wage Support Program for Early Childhood Educators (WSP-ECE) is a wage enhancement program administered by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development to support Operators of Early Learning and Childcare facilities with the recruitment and retention of trained educators. 

Comments on Funding:

There are two levels of funding, depending on the training of the educator:

  1. 1
    Level 1: $7.25/hour for educators that have:
  • a Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education,
  • a related degree in Education or Early Childhood Development,
  • an unrelated degree,they will receive:
  • Designated facilities (0-5 years old):
    Step 1: $9.25/hour;
    Step 2: $10.45/hour;
    Step 3: $11.72/hour.
  • School Age:
    Step 1: $7.25/hour;
    Step 2: $8.45/hour;
    Step 3: $9.72/hour.

Non-designated facilities: $7.25/hour

  1. 2
    Entry Level: : $3.15/hour for educators that.
  • have Introduction to Early Childhood Education (90 hours),
  • are school age educators or relief staff (untrained),they will receive:
  • Designated facilities (0-5 years old):
    Step 1: $3.15/hour;
    Step 2: $4.12/hour;
    Step 3: $5.15/hour. 
  • School Age:
    Step 1: $1.15/hour;
    Step 2: $2.12/hour;
    Step 3: $3.15/hour.

Non-designated: $3.15/hour.

Other information:

  1. 1
    The minimum contribution for an operator to the salary of an educator working in a designated facility is $11.75/hour.
  2. 2
    The wage top-up for designated facilities is inclusive of the province’s $2.00/hour to offset the minimum wage increases.
  3. 3
    Operators of non-designated (0-5 years old) and school age facilities are responsible for providing the provincial minimum wage to their educators.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • be operators of licenced early learning and childcare facilities,
  • be located in New Brunswick,
  • enroll their qualifying educators.

Eligible educators must be:

  • educators who contribute to the child-to-staff ratio and work in an educational capacity,
  • Early Learning and Childcare Home Operators,
  • administrators who act as pedagogical leaders (must be recognized as such by EECD and listed as administrator on the licensing documentation) ,
  • relief staff who are employed on a short term, temporary, or on-call basis, who are replacing the hours of an educator who cannot be present due to an authorized short or defined period of time such as, sick leave, appointments, vacation,
  • relief staff working with preschool age children for 10+ days/month (or 88+ hrs/month), if they have completed the Entry Level training. 

Application Steps:

Applicant must first login to the Operator Portal and consent to the Terms and Conditions for the WSP-ECE,

Applicant must enroll the qualifying educators,

Applicant must report the actual hours worked by all eligible employees on a monthly basis,

Applicant must review funding statements, 

5

Applicant must renew program registration annually. 

Documentation Needed: 

The applicant must submit ECE certificates and diplomas completed in or after June 2009.

Ticket Incentive Program 2021-22

Description:

The Ticket Incentive Program 2021-22 is designed to provide a ticket incentive for live performances presented between April 1, 2021 and March 1, 2022 by live performance venues and festivals. Performances must have already taken place prior to application date. 

Comments on Funding:

Successful applicants are reimbursed at $5 per ticket sold, up to maximum grant amounts.

Category Grant maximums are as follows:

  1. 1
    A - Venues with a small seating capacity (150 people or less) - $750,
  2. 2
    B - Venues with a medium seating capacity (151 – 500 people) - $2,000,
  3. 3
    C - Venues with a large seating capacity (more than 500 people) - $4,000,
  4. 4
    D - Arts and Culture Festivals (1.99K or fewer attendees) - $4,000,
  5. 5
    E - Arts and Culture Festivals (2K or more attendees) - $6,000.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • be arts organizations, arts presenters and arts and cultural festivals,
  • present live shows by professional New Brunswick artists and/or arts groups in artistic disciplines such as dance, visual and/or media arts, theatre, music, or literary arts, with an average ticket cost of $5 or more,
  • be legally constituted in New Brunswick,
  • have professional training and/or related experience in the areas of presenting performances and/or exhibits in one or several artistic disciplines.

Category A applicants must apply to the Small Venues Ticket Incentive Program through Music NB.
Category B,C,D,E applicants must submit the application electronically via email to culture@gnb.ca.

New Brunswick Group Meeting Incentive Program

Description:

New Brunswick Group Meeting Incentive Program encourages meeting planners and businesses to host meetings and events of which registered New Brunswick roofed accommodation businesses will be providing a 20% rebate on eligible expenses. These registered New Brunswick roofed accommodation businesses are then eligible to apply to the Program to recover the 20% rebate. 

Comments on Funding:

Funding is in the form of a 20% rebate on eligible expenses. There is a cap of $5,000.00 rebate for each eligible submission.

Eligibility:

The applicant must:

  • be a registered New Brunswick roofed accommodation businesses which is able to accommodate 10 guestrooms, or more, and other eligible expenses under one roof, 
  • have hosted a meeting or event with a minimum of 10 paid guest rooms, for at least one night of the group booking,

Application Steps:

Applicants must mail the incentive claim to the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture, PO Box 6000, Fredericton, NB, E3B 0K2 (to the attention of Benita Albert) or email it to the attention of Benita Albert.

Upon verifying the eligibility and the validity of the Master Bill provided, with the attached claim, THC, will process and provide the 20% rebate to the roofed accommodation/operator.

Documentation Needed: 

​The applicants must submit the incentive claim, which will provide the following details:

  1. 1
    name of the roofed accommodation, complete address and name of contact,
  2. 2
    name of the group booking, with the associated arrival date and departure date,
  3. 3
    the number of guestrooms actualized each night of the particular group booking,
  4. 4
    the overnight room rate, the number of guestrooms, with the total dollar amount incurred for guestroom bookings,
  5. 5
    meeting room rental and associated meeting room eligible costs.
  6. 6
    total on-site food and beverage expenses incurred associated with the meeting(s) of the group booking,
  7. 7
    the amount of the Master bill to reflect the total amount of eligible Master Bill charges associated with the particular group booking,

Other Things to Note:

The Program is open between July 19, 2021 and April 30, 2022. The deadline for the submission of the Master Bill(s) for reimbursement is May 22, 2022

Brunswick’s Indigenous Agriculture Development Program

Brunswick’s Indigenous Agriculture Development Program provides funding to support First Nations communities, individuals or organizations who are interested in participating the New Brunswick agricultural industry, including local foods.

The applicant must:

  • be located in the Province of New Brunswick,
  • be Indigenous individuals,
  • be Indigenous communities or governments, including a band or tribal council or a government of a self-governing First Nation,
  • be Indigenous for-profit or not-for-profit corporations, associations, cooperatives or institutions,
  • be Indigenous businesses, partnerships or joint ventures,
  • apply for project funding under any program of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, as below:
  • Business Development Program,
  • Advancing Agri-Food Processing,
  • Agri-Industry Development and Advancement – Market and Product Development,
  • Agri-Industry Development and Advancement – Agri-Land Enhancement,
  • Agri-Industry Development and Advancement – Advancing Crop and Livestock Sectors, (includes Livestock Genetics)
  • Enabling Agriculture Research and Innovation,
  • Environmentally Sustainable Agriculture,
  • Mitigation, Prevention, Occupational Health and Safety,
  • Public Trust and Agricultural Awareness.
