Advanced Manufacturing Technology Assessments

Description:

The Advanced Manufacturing Technology Assessments will assist manufacturers who are seeking innovative solutions to increase their efficiency, productivity and competitiveness.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is 75% of eligible costs, to a maximum non-repayable contribution of $50,000.

Eligibility:

Applicant must be:

  • be incorporated Atlantic Canadian manufacturers,
  • demonstrate the desire and the capacity to integrate new, innovative technologies into their traditional practices,
  • show capacity and willingness to grow,
  • have a strong management team,
  • focus on innovation,
  • have the ability and willingness to invest time and resources to expand,
  • show engagement in productivity or continuous improvement initiatives.

The Economic Development Initiative (EDI) – Action Plan for Official Languages – 2018-2023: Investing in Our Future

Description:

Through the EDI, ACOA will be delivering $1.1 million per year in EDI funding to help support, strengthen and diversify the economic base of Atlantic Canada’s Acadian and Francophone communities, which are the official language minority communities – or OLMC – in the region.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to 75% of project costs. Applicants are required to leverage a minimum of 25% of funding from other sources.

  • business and economic development associations (certificate of incorporation required)
  • Provincial Crown Corporations,
  • colleges, universities and other post-secondary institutions,

Documentation Needed:

Not-for- profit applicants must submit a completed application form and the following supporting documents:

    description and mandate of the applicant, including the management and qualifications of key personnel,

    one of the following two items is required: research and development (R&D) project plan or detailed project description, including milestones, costs, financing, key partnerships established and evidence of support from the community,

Canadian Experiences Fund (CEF)

Description:

The Canadian Experiences Fund (CEF) provides $6 million over two years to support communities across Atlantic Canada as they create, improve or enhance tourism products, facilities and experiences. Investments made through the CEF will focus on five categories: winter and shoulder-season tourism, rural and remote communities, Indigenous tourism, inclusiveness, especially for the LGBTQ2 community and culinary and farm-to-table experiences.  

Comments on Funding:

Funding for non-profit organizations is up to 100% of eligible costs.
Funding for for-profit businesses is up to 75% on a repayable basis, depending on the types of costs.

Atlantic Innovation Fund (AIF)

Amount:

$3,000,000.00

Type of Program:

Grants & Loan


Description:

The Atlantic Innovation Fund is helping Atlantic Canada compete at home and abroad by supporting the development of innovative products and services that lead to commercial success.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to 80% of total eligible costs for projects led by not-for-profit organizations. Contributions to not-for-profit organizations are non-repayable

Funding is up to 75% of total eligible costs for private-sector-led projects. Contributions to the private sector are conditionally repayable based on the commercial success of a project.

It should be noted that the AIF assistance for eligible building and major renovation costs would not normally exceed 30% of the costs.

Eligible costs could include wages, salaries, capital costs and other operating expenses directly related to the project. The AIF assistance for eligible building and major renovation costs would not normally exceed 30% of the costs.

Funding for innovation project ranges from $500,000 to $3 million. Innovation projects of less than $500,000 may be eligible under ACOA’s Business Development Program.

  • provincial Crown corporations operating in Atlantic Canada.

complete a Project Concept Template and submit it to the ACOA office nearest to them. ACOA will contact them to confirm receipt and to discuss their project.

complete and submit the Application for Financial Assistance form, once they have discussed their project with ACOA.

  • incorporation documents and information on ownership names and percentage of ownership 
  • financial statements (current and last two years),
  • R&D project plan, business plan and/or marketing plan,
  • supplier quotes,
  • copies of relevant permits and licenses,
  • other relevant documents (specify).  

Not-for-profit applicants and other applicants must submit a completed application form and the following supporting documents:
