Mink Industry Enhancement Program

Description:

Mink Industry Enhancement Program aims to support Nova Scotia mink farms certified under the Mink Care Assessment Program (MCAP) to strengthen the industry’s position in the market and create market access opportunities while supporting the industry in its adoption of animal care standards.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to $100,000 per applicant for the duration of the program. Applicants are eligible for $25.00 assistance per breeding female mink.

Eligibility:

The applicant must:

  • be a Nova Scotia Mink producer,
  • possess a Nova Scotia Fur Farming License and Site Approval Permit,
  • be currently and properly registered in the correct income category under the Farm Registration Act,
  • be at least 19 years of age and actively farming in the program year,
  • have completed the Mink Care Assessment Program,
  • be a member in good standing with Nova Scotia Mink Breeders Association.

Application Steps:

The applicants must complete and submit the Application to PBRM.

Documentation Needed: 

​Applicants must submit:

  1. 1
    a copy of certificate and audit report from the Mink Care Assessment Program (MCAP), 
  2. 2
    proof of number of breeding females from Canada Mink Breeders Association, 
  3. 3
    Program Funding Registration form, if they are clients new to PBRM funding. 

Other Things to Note:

Applications will be processed in order of receipt until available funds are committed
