Description:

The L.A.B. Funding program covers up to 75% of a project cost of maximum $25,000 to assist vendors wishing to conduct research and development projects in the field of smart grid innovation in New Brunswick.

Eligibility:

The applicant must:

  • be a vendor located in New Brunswick, 
  • be wishing to conduct research and development projects in the field of smart grid innovation.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:

1

apply to Smart Grid Innovation Network (SGIN) by filling out the online vendor application form

2

prepare their project and define its scope in the designated SGIN lab (UNB, Siemens or NB Power),

3

receive funding approval to start their project.

No specific documentation has been identified.

Other Things to Note:

The launch announcement from June, 2017 stated that the L.A.B. FUNDING PROGRAM would be a two-year pilot project (see source 2022). However, I did not manage to find any clear information indicating its closing, so I am not sure about its status.
