Regional Development Fund – Community Capacity Building (CCB)

Description:

The Community Capacity Building component provides training support to non-profit organizations with a clear link to economic and business development. This includes Community Capacity Building module delivery and industry development sessions, based on four themes (strategy and planning, relationship building, organizational skills and management, and co-operative development).

Comments on Funding:

Funding is in the form of a non-repayable contribution, normally to a maximum of $5,000 for regional organizations and $10,000 for provincial organizations per year.

Eligibility:

The applicant must:

  • must be non-profit organizations, excluding federal and provincial government departments and agencies,
  • include industry associations, municipalities, public educational institutions, and other non-profit groups including co-operatives and economic development organizations,
  • must be incorporated,
  • must have projects clearly linked to economic and business development by providing training and development sessions based on a series of accredited modules to support community development.

Applicants must submit their proposals to Kevin Pomroy, CCB Analyst (directly or via the local Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development office).

Documentation Needed: 

​Applicant must:

  • their proposal including the completed application form, his legal name and mailing address, the Organization's mandate and its link to economic/business development, details about the workshop (location, dates, requested CCB Module, target audience, its rationale), budget,
  • its Canada Revenue Business Number (GST/HST) and its Status with Company and Deeds and Provincial Company Number,
  • valid supporting documentation for Electronic Funds Transfer.

Other Things to Note:

The Regional Development Fund provides support to Newfoundland and Labrador organizations by way of non-repayable contributions for projects aimed at supporting economic development, innovation and capacity building in all regions of the province. is comprised of two components: the Regional Development Program and Community Capacity Building.
