Type of Program:
Arts Nova Scotia’s Grants to Organizations and Small Groups program supports projects by Nova Scotia professional arts organizations in the creation, production and dissemination of artistic work. The program also seeks to strengthen artistic or administrative capacity within arts organizations by developing skills and enriching knowledge.
There are three types of grants, depending on the assisted activities:
- 1Production/Presentation Grants assist professional arts groups and organizations with the production or presentation of specific work (Special Projects Grant) or a recurring series or programs (Series & Recurring Activities Grant) for the public.
- 2Commissioning Grants assist professional arts groups and organizations to commission artists outside the organization to create new work.
- 3Professional Development Grants assist professional arts groups and organizations to strengthen the artistic or administrative capacity of the organization and/or the artistic communities with which they work.
Comments on Funding:
Funding for Production/Presentation Grants is up to $15,000.
Funding for Commissioning Grants is up to $5,000.
Funding for Professional Development Grants is up to $3,000.
Applicants may make one application per category per deadline.
When It Ends:

Production/Presentation projects should show multiple revenue streams.
Professional development projects should show a financial contribution from the applicant.
send the application by hand, courier or by email or regular mail and applications must be either received in the Arts Nova Scotia office by 4:30 PM on the deadline date or be postmarked no later than the deadline date,
print out and sent together with the application form all documents including text (e.g. project description, CV, letters of support). It should be printed single-sided with no staples, binders, plastic sleeves, paperclips, or bound in folders.
