Description:

The Community Food Security Sub-Program offers funding to create community, government and industry partnerships that support PEI residents in obtaining safe, culturally acceptable, nutritionally adequate diets through a local, sustainable food system that maximizes community self-reliance. Projects should aim to be explicitly inclusive of one or more group of underrepresented people.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is 100% of eligible expenses, up to $10,000 per project.
The Department reserves the right to consider additional amounts for funding on a case-by-case basis.

Closed for 2021/2022 fiscal year

Deadline:

2022/2023 application intake to be announced

Eligibility:

The applicant must:

  • registered not-for-profit groups, 
  • Mi’kmaq First Nations and other Indigenous groups.

Applicants must submit their completed applications via regular mail or email to the attention of the Community Food Security and Agriculture Awareness Information Officer

Documentation Needed: 

The applicant must submit:

  • the completed application form,
  • a detailed project proposal.

Other Things to Note:

This program is part of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (2018-2023).
