Type of Program:
The Artist Recognition Awards help artists showcase the recipients’ work to residents of the province and to people beyond Nova Scotia's borders.
They are awarded to artists in three categories:
- 1The Emerging Artist Recognition Award recognizes artists of any age who are in the early-stages of their professional career, have completed specialized training, and have presented their work publicly.
- 2The Established Artist Recognition Award recognizes artists who have emerged from their initial training and development to become recognized, established artists in Nova Scotia.
- 3The Indigenous Artist Recognition Award recognizes artists of Indigenous backgrounds who have emerged from their initial training and development to become recognized, established artists in Nova Scotia.
Comments on Funding:
Each award carries a cash value of $5,000.

The nominator must:
complete the nomination form and supply adequate support material to allow the peer assessment committee to assess the nominee’s achievements and career progress,
also obtain permission from the nominee,
deliver the application by hand, courier or by regular mail but in all cases, must be either received in the Arts Nova Scotia office by 4:30 PM on the deadline date or be postmarked no later than the deadline date.
